HOW TO
INTERVENE WITH A POTENTIALLY INTOXICATED PATRON IN BARS
Some guests are sitting in the bar at a corner table, and it’s a busy hour, they entered at 7:00 pm and now its 9:00 pm. It’s been quite long drinks are being served continuously, as a server in the bar you found that one of the guest is getting potentially intoxicated and you could see signs of loud speech, ordering drinks frequently, stumbling and aggressive behavior.
As a
server what possible course of action should be taken in such situation.

ReplyDeleteAs a server we have to Empathize the guest and make sure to calm the guest and try to avoid serving drink to that guest. listen him so he will calm and leave the bar.
ReplyDeleteFirst stay calm and ask guest to , sir or mam may I get some food for you as it will be a process for guest to get sober and ask his or her companion to take a break as they are getting drunk and don't embarrass them as they will feel uncomfortable.ask them to get some colddrink or offer them on house to lighten there mood.

Understand the situation and stop serving more alcohol . try to calm the guest with your friendly and polite nature . Try to show you are very friendly and corprative with guest .And when you feel guest is calm down arrange a taxi for him/her for to reach the home for guest safety.

ReplyDeleteAs a server we have to calm the guest and not to argued with the guest. We have to try not to embarrassed him in front of other guest and we have to listen to him and empathize him and handle the situation in a friendly way.
ReplyDeleteFirstly if the guest wants to have more drinks then we will denie and apologies the guest in a fruitful manner and say "sir you are not in your concious state and we cannot serve you more drinks as there is a policy made for the hotel that after excessive service of alcohol the service must me stopped if the guest is being intoxicated "
